Launch-State Difficulties and Endings
A dated record of the Normal and 1337 mode, checkpoint, unlock, and ending information in the official launch announcement.
Table of Contents
At launch on July 16, 2026, Reflect Studios described two difficulty modes for Welcome to the Game III: Normal and 1337. The official launch announcement said Normal saved at each in-game hour, while 1337 unlocked after completing Normal, omitted checkpoint saving, and had a distinct ending. The same announcement said two endings were available at launch and three more were planned but not yet released.
This page preserves that launch-state snapshot as verified on July 19, 2026. It does not present the launch count as permanently current, and it does not provide steps for reaching any ending.
Difficulty information in the launch announcement
| Launch-state detail | Normal | 1337 |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | The standard mode described at launch | Unlocked after completing Normal |
| Checkpoint rule | Saved at each in-game hour | No checkpoint saving at launch |
| Ending information | The announcement reported two endings overall at launch; no ending procedure is supplied here | The announcement described a distinct ending |
The table records only differences stated by Reflect Studios. It does not assign hidden modifiers, enemy changes, resource values, timing changes, or difficulty-scaling rules because the official launch announcement does not establish those details.
The ending count needs a date attached
What was available at launch
The July 16 announcement reported two endings available at launch. That number describes a moment in the release history. It is useful for understanding the initial scope, but it should not be copied into an undated “current endings” claim.
What was planned, not released
Reflect Studios also said three additional endings were planned but unreleased. “Planned” is not the same as “available,” and the reviewed announcement supplied no public release date for them. This article therefore keeps the available and planned counts in separate statements.
Post-launch difficulty check
The July 18 Patch 1.0.2 Part 1 announcement added an experimental Normal+ mode, described as Normal with permadeath and without a new ending or achievement at that time. A follow-up hotfix continued to contrast Normal+ permadeath with Normal checkpoints. This confirms that the two launch modes are not a complete post-launch inventory, while leaving the dated launch table above unchanged.
The official launch and Normal+ announcements still do not establish a permanent current ending total, a complete current mode guide, or a roadmap date. Normal+ behavior beyond the narrow patch description, and its status after later updates, require a fresh check.
Why this is an update, not an ending guide
An announcement can confirm that endings exist without revealing how to reach them. No source used here validates route choices, hidden conditions, trigger sequences, achievements, or a “best” ending. Adding any of those details would turn an official launch summary into speculation.
The same limit applies to saves. The official launch announcement confirms an hourly Normal checkpoint and no 1337 checkpoint saving at launch. It does not establish save behavior outside those explicit differences, and it does not justify claims about run length, randomization, or difficulty scaling.

The patch and hotfix are treated as post-launch changes; every count and rule in the launch table remains explicitly labeled at launch.
